Jack's Blessing

Last Sunday, family and friends gathered to help us celebrate Jack's blessing. We went to church where Dave named and blessed Jackson Perry Lee. I don't know if we mentioned this before, but we've always liked the name Jackson and so that's his first name. Perry is a family name from Dave's side of the family. Samuel Perry Lee was Dave's great grandfather and brother to Harold B. Lee. Dave had read his grandfather's history and a few other things about his great grandfather and thought that he would be a good namesake for Jack. Christie agreed and that is where the name comes from.

After the blessing, everyone came over for a dinner of Southern-style pulled pork sandwiches, veggies, fruit and chips. And it was all topped off with some brownies (thanks Jen) and a mother-load of cookies. It was a great day. Below are pictures. Dave with Jack and then Jack, Dave, Dave's dad Terryl, and Dave's grandfather Boyd (where Dave gets his middle name). Thanks for coming everyone, and if you couldn't make it, maybe next time!
