More Vacation

By now you probably have already seen our video and now I have given you some pictures to enjoy. There really is no order behind their posting so just enjoy, and for your benefit I have left captions.

And now the report...
We left on a Monday morning and drove to Turlock, CA. We came down mostly because Christie's cousin was getting married in Oakland that weekend. Christie's parents and brother (Mike) were going down and Mike's girlfriend, Nancy, were going to be there so we went early. Months previous we had planned a trip to Disneyland, Sea World, and the San Diego Zoo and it happened that the wedding was the weekend before, so we merged both trips into one.

We loved relaxing in Turlock while we drove everywhere showing Nancy the beauties of California. She lives in Iowa but is from Puebla, Mexico. We loved spending time and getting to know her. We then met Mike and Tiff in Anaheim on the next Monday.

We stayed (from the hotel's promotions) a ten minute walk from Disneyland. Really it turned into about a 20 minute walk which was fine in the morning, but seemed like a marathon at the end of the day. Most of the days were pleasant with a slight cool breeze. We did a lot of walking and if you make sure you do the Magic Morning where you can start at 7:00 a.m. Lines didn't form until about 8:30 and we were able to enjoy more rides in that 1 1/2 hours than we thought possible. It was fun seeing Disneyland and the kids loved it. Macy loved Space Mountain the most and Zoe says the roller coaster in Toon Town was her favorite.

Wednesday afternoon we left Anaheim for San Diego. We ended up stopping by Christie's friend Heather's house. It was a nice relaxing break from the go, go, go of Disneyland. Later that evening we quickly found a new love, the outdoor Mexican restaurants of Old Town San Diego. There are lots of them and they have great atmosphere and great food. We enjoyed the Zoo and Sea World while we were in San Diego and we had fun playing on the beach.
After nearly 2 weeks, we finally headed home on Saturday. We were tired and glad to be home, but we loved our vacation and being able to enjoy it with family (future family...wink, wink, Mike) and some great friends!

Random Pics From Our Vacation

Tiff, Noah, Mike and Bella (and us) really enjoyed the outdoor Mexican Restaurants in Old Town San Diego. Muy Bien!

Yes, we just got back from the beach. No, they aren't going to share with us.

Heather lives near San Diego and she came down to the zoo just to take this picture :) She was nice enough to let us stop by on our way from Anaheim and rest and we had fun with her two youngster joining us at the zoo.

Zoe is almost tall enough for this picture.

I've got a sneaking suspicion...

Taking my girlies out into the ocean for some "real" waves.

Sure, he'll wear Macy's hat...

Too much candy and too little mouth.

Mike, Tiff, Noah, and Bella loving Dumbo.

Taking it all in.

One of the few successful character pics. Most of the time we would be shewed away just as we got there. A common quote from Disneyland employees, "(Insert character name here) will be back in 30 minutes, you can get better pictures then."

We just returned from two weeks in the Golden State and here is a brief (and by brief I mean 14 minutes, sorry) summary of what we did. I hope you enjoy it. I'll post more pictures and a more detailed report later, so check back. Oh, and don't forget to pause the player on your right before you begin.

Biking Pipeline

I took my brother-in-law, Mike, up on the Milcreek Pipeline trail for some fun this morning. We had a good ride and both endoed, Mike at the beginning of the ride and I down in Rattlesnake Gulch. Just a few scrapes is all we suffered. It was a great ride and good fun.

Hiking Pleasant Grove

This morning we headed out bright and early with friends and family and hiked up near Pleasant Grove. It was a beautiful hike and we had fun. Macy got a bit tired and we came back a little sooner than we planned, but it was a good hike. Below are some pictures of the waterfalls we saw and Christie posing with her "sup" face. There is also a video you can watch; it is not that exciting and it is only one minute long, but we got a new toy and it needed some playing with. Have fun and enjoy!

The Last Couple of Weekends

It has been awhile since we last posted anything, but here are a good group of pictures for ya'll to enjoy. Last weekend (the 24th) Christie went down to Nephi to go camping on the Nebo Loop. Dave and the kids joined her the next day. We went on a small hike and enjoyed nature.
This weekend marked the end of Dave's year. In about 80 days he'll be right back working again and up until then we plan to have as much fun as we can. We called some friends (Mike and Lexie Lantz and their kids) and Christie's sister Alison. We all headed up to hike Donut Falls located up Big Cottonwood Canyon. The gate to get to the trailhead was closed so we hiked the 3/4 of a mile up to the trailhead and then saw that our hike was going to be cut short by snow. The kids had fun playing on the snow even though it was warm. So overall, it was a fun trip; Dave even fell into a hole that sucked up his entire leg in the freezing snow! Enjoy the pictures below.
